Although the name may connote ties and suits, Business Bay is one of the most energetic neighborhoods around. This is the place to see and be seen—a dreamy little metropolis brought to life. Winding across Business Bay lies the Dubai Water Canal, an artificial channel that links Old Dubai to the Arabian Gulf. Its promenade offers the ideal frame for this urban jungle's outstanding architecture, with each high-rise competing for attention. It is surrounded by thrilling cafes, trendy lounges, and opulent hotels.
Contemporary luxury best captures Business Bay's identity and it's home to some of the city's most elegant hospitality institutions. Al Habtoor City, a cluster of hotels and residential towers, is one of these distinguished gems. An array of delectable restaurants cater to tastes of all kinds here, but it’s best known as the home for the renowned production La Perle. Designed by creative director Franco Dragone, La Perle celebrates the region's pearl diving history in a purpose-built aqua theatre that has to be seen to be believed.
Where there are tall towers, there are great views. Business Bay is also a treasure trove of rooftop getaways, many of which award spectacular views of Downtown's Burj Khalifa. From the 72nd floor of the JW Marriott Marquis, Hotel Cartagena celebrates the best of South America in its ambiance and menu, while Taj Dubai’s alfresco terrace lounge Treehouse is a favourite thanks to its laidback setting.
